The Road with Many Faces
This is a Python or Carousel with a progress quality and another ‘lateral’ quality - one that’s got a small number of levels. Most of the content is open to all characters, but a few bits of it are unlocked with specific levels of the lateral quality.
So, if the progress quality is Attending the Royal Ball, the lateral quality might be Noble Rank, and have levels available of Baroness, Countess or Princess. Most of the content will be available to all characters, but occasionally the player will see some content specific to their noble rank. This is a very efficient approach – the content will feel like it’s been personalised to the player’s choice, but most of it is common across that choice.
